Free Texas DMV Road Signs Permit Practice Test 2025
Texas has the longest highway in any state. U.S. Route 83 stretches almost 900 miles from the Oklahoma border to the Mexican border at Brownsville. Driving such long distances without any turns can lead to drowsiness. Driver fatigue is a major cause of accidents, and unfortunately, they often occur on highways with high speed limits. Before taking the driving skills test, applicants must complete the Impact Texas Drivers (ITD) program, which educates students on the dangers of distracted driving.
The Texas Panhandle is a remote region with open plains. Strong winds represent the biggest challenge for drivers cruising on U.S. Route 287. Here, wind warnings and service distance signs are crucial for providing guidance. That’s why it is necessary to be familiar with all the road signs presented in the official DMV driver’s handbook (Texas DMV Handbook (TX Driver's Manual) 2025). While you memorize them, we offer a helpful tool that can significantly increase your chances of passing the written knowledge test.
Our Texas DMV Road Signs practice tests allow you to evaluate your knowledge in an environment similar to what you’ll encounter at the Driver License Office during the day of the exam. Each practice test consists of 25 questions. To pass, you must score at least 80%. However, it is perfectly normal to fail on your first few attempts, especially while you are still in the learning phase.
Consistency is always preferred over intensity. We recommend starting training with this tool several weeks before you take the written exam. With repetition, it gets easier to identify the meaning of each road sign. After each question, you’ll receive immediate feedback so you won’t need to wait until the end of the test to identify mistakes. Make sure you understand the detailed explanation of each correct answer before proceeding to the next question. If you’re not satisfied with your progress in any given session, you can restart the practice test by using the designated restart button. However, it is important to note that the order of the questions will be randomized for each session.
