ID CDL HazMat Practice Test 3 2025
- Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
- Based on 2025 ID commercial driver's license manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for September 2025
Adding a Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement to your Idaho CDL can significantly increase your job opportunities and earning power. Employers pay a premium for drivers licensed to transport cargo that the U.S. government has deemed hazardous. Major Idaho-based companies, including Freeport-McMoRan (mining and industrial chemicals), Honeywell (aerospace and manufacturing materials), and Sundt Construction (infrastructure and fuel transport), all rely on CDL drivers with HazMat endorsements.
To qualify, you must be 21 years old for interstate travel. You must also complete a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) fingerprinting and security background check before taking the official DMV HazMat test. While you wait for what can sometimes be weeks for the results, you’ll want to make certain you have completed all Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) for the Hazardous Materials Endorsement. You’ll also want to study for the final step: the DMV knowledge test.
This Idaho CDL HazMat Practice Test is number three in our series, all scientifically designed to help you pass the official knowledge exam on your first attempt. Be sure to check out our other Idaho practice tests, one of which can be found here: https://driving-tests.org/idaho/id-cdl-hazmat-practice-test/. To pass the HazMat knowledge test, you must obtain a minimum score of 80%. The exam is based on the HazMat section (Chapter 9) of the Idaho CDL Manual (Idaho CDL Handbook 2025), covering placarding rules, safe loading and unloading, shipping papers, and emergency response procedures. Idaho’s 30-question knowledge test also covers federal regulations, substance handling, packaging, quantity limits, and transport configurations.
That’s a substantial amount of material to test on! Don’t worry! Our Idaho HazMat practice tests focus only on the material needed for the official test and mirror the format of the state exam. Our practice tests also provide real-time feedback. If you miss a question, the practice exam shows you exactly why another answer choice was the right one. This approach has been scientifically proven to speed the learning process.
Once you complete your ELDT needs, receive your TSA results, and feel prepared from all the practice, you’ll visit the DMV with the necessary documents, pay the fees, and pass the test with flying colors.
Be sure to review our entire suite of Idaho-specific practice tests and test prep for additional endorsements!
